　　做大人有时很难，需要承担很多的责任。主持人 Neil 向佳莹发牢骚，抱怨自己周末没干别的，只顾做家务活了。他们用一个词来描述 “做家务这种成年人不得不做的日常琐事”。听一听两人的对话，学习动名词 “adulting” 的意思和用法。

　　NeilOh, very dull – I was just doing housework.

　　Jiaying你周末光做家务活了？家务活确实有点枯燥，不过这也是日常生活中的一部分呀。

　　NeilOh, I wish I could just do whatever I want! Like going hiking, or binge-watching my favourite TV series…

　　JiayingYou can still do these things, Neil – but housework is all part of ‘adulting’.

　　NeilYou mean being a grown up?

　　Jiaying没错！“Adulting” 这个词也可以读作 “adulting”，它描述的是 “以典型的成年人的方式行事，做大人们该做的事情或承担的责任”，尤其指 “做既枯燥又单调的事情”。Let’s face it, Neil, you’re not a child any more!

　　NeilThanks for reminding me. Let’s hear some more examples of ‘adulting’…

　　ExamplesMy kids are cooking dinner for me so I get a break from adulting!

　　I told my friend to stop behaving like a teenager and start adulting!

　　Paying the bills is boring but a necessary part of adulting.
