第二届SDG摄影挑战优胜作品全览：启明星孩子关切世界的16篇摄影笔记

　　

　　“Ralph Reutimann 是一名摄影师，他勇敢而充满创想，对于SDG 摄影挑战，他曾表示：“它唤醒了我们的意识和目标，改变了世界，激励我们所有人审视并达成 17 个联合国可持续发展目标 (SDG)”。我们很开心在启明星举办第二届 SDG 摄影挑战，并收到了从 1 年级到 12 年级的学生提交的超过 115 张照片！

　　评审团共举办了 3 次评审会议，对所有照片进行了评审，并依据照片的创意、影响力以及与可持续发展目标的联系做出最终评定。首席评委兼艺术系主任 Zo? Woodcock 评论说：“本次 SDG 摄影挑战激励我们的学生观察当地生活中出现的全球性问题，以实际行动捕捉点滴时刻，或记录当前的世界，让世界更美好。今年的参赛作品数量之多，照片之精美，艺术家陈述之深刻，无不令人激越！”

　　本届全新的 SDG 摄影作品展将在北皋和三里屯校区永久展出，为期一年，用作教学资源，期间供启明星学生通过其探究单元或社会创新项目不断了解可持续发展目标。祝贺 2022 年获奖者！请欣赏以下他们为每个可持续发展目标拍摄的精美获奖照片！

　　SDG摄影挑战获胜者在2022年社会创新日上

　　SDG Winners on SI Day 2022

　　As a courageous and inspired photographer Ralph Reutimann shares his focus on SDG photography stating that “it transforms our world by awakening consciousness and purpose, inspiring us all to see and solve our 17 U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”. At Daystar we are excited to have held our 2nd annual SDG Photography Challenge where we sawover 115 photos submitted from students from grade 1 to grade 12!

　　The judging panel took 3 review sessions to go through all of the photos and make their final decisions based on the creativity of the photo, influence, and connection to the SDG. Lead judge and head of the Arts Department, Zo? Woodcock commented: “SDG Photo Challenge inspires our students to observe global issues in local life and capture those moments as a call to action, or as a record of how the world was, before we made it better. I was thrilled with the increase in entries this year, the beauty of the photos, and the meaningful artist statements!”

　　The new SDG photo exhibit is on permanent display at both the Beigao and Sanlitun campuses for 1-year and is used as a teaching resource, as Daystar students continually learn about the SDGs through their units of inquiry or social innovation projects. 　　这张照片是在我每天上学的必经之路拍到的。每天清晨，我都能看到很多爷爷奶奶舞动着龙稠，是那么有力，精神抖擞的，脸上满是笑容。我能感受到健康带给他们的快乐！我也体会到只有拥有健康的身体才能让生活更美好。

　　This photo was taken on my daily route to school. Every morning I can see many grandparents dancing with the dragon stick, so strong and spirited, with smiles on their faces. I can feel the happiness that health brings to them! It also made me realize that only having a healthy body can make life better.

　　这些孩子生活在遥远的高原上，但他们仍然可以享受体育带来的快乐。不过，看到他们偌大的学校只有一个篮球场，而足球、篮球或羽毛球的数量远远不够，我不禁想起自己在北京启明星学校能够使用到的优质的体育资源。虽然治多县这所小学的人均器材拥有量与过去相比有了很大的提高，但器材的质量、数量和人均使用时间都无法与启明星相比。我认为，每个人都应该有机会去享受快乐。我希望并计划利用体育来提升儿童的能力。

　　Although children can enjoy the happiness brought by sports in the remote plateau, it also shows national pride. However, seeing that their huge school has only one basketball court, and the number of football fields, basketball or badminton courts is far from enough, I cannot help but reflect on the good sports equipment I enjoy at Daystar in Beijing. Although the per capita ownership of equipment in Zhiduo county's primary schools has been greatly improved compared to the past, the quality, quantity and per capita time use of equipment cannot be compared with Daystar -there is still a big gap. I believe that every person should be entitled to an opportunity to play and have fun. I wish and plan to use sports to empower children.

　　她是我的姥姥，即将迎来她的第80个生日。她出生在抗战期间，那个时候每个家庭都盼着有个男孩，姥姥家也不例外。她的降生并没有给她的父母带来任何惊喜，甚至都没有给她取名字，因为这是她们家的第五个女孩。而在她4岁多的时候，家庭中终于迎来了1个男孩。由于父母和姐姐们都去参军或工作了，她便承担起了照顾弟弟的重任。家里稀有的白面馒头要给弟弟吃，还要看好弟弟别跑丢了，没有人在乎她的喜怒哀乐，她连一件属于自己的衣服都没有。而现在，终于在社会的发展下，女性歧视慢慢减少，姥姥也变成了备受家里人和外人尊敬的长辈。愿天下的所有女性都被尊敬和关爱！

　　This is my grandmother and we are going to celebrate her 80th birthday. She was born in the 1940s, at that time, every family expected and adored boys. Because of the stereotype, her birth didn’t bring any happiness to the family. Her parents were disappointed at this 5th girl in the family. As a result, she even did not have her own name let alone any new clothes. Her family finally had a boy when she was 4 years old. Five years later, she became the primary care taker for her brother because other family members were either busy with factory work or joined the army. She not only needed to give the precious bread to her little brother but also be responsible for his safety. No one cared about her feelings or wishes. But now, the discrimination for females has reduced significantly because of good social development. My grandma has become a well-respected elder. I hope that all females are well treated and cared for！

　　清洁的饮水和卫生设施是人类社会发展不可或缺的两个方面。没有卫生设施就没有干净的水源，没有垃圾车，垃圾就得不到相应的处理，流入并破坏早已稀缺的水源。水是地球上生命的本源，获得清洁的水理应是一项不可剥夺的权利；而让垃圾得到环保的处理或许也是垃圾的权利吧......

　　Clean water and sanitation are two necessities that cannot be ignored for human development. Without sanitation there is no clean water.Without garbage trucks, garbage is not disposed of accordingly, flowing into and then destroying long-scarce water sources. Water is the essence of life on earth, and access to clean water is an essential right. Perhaps it is also their right to have their garbage disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.

　　今年暑假，利用回老家的机会，我参观了当地的环保垃圾处理站。这个处理站采用国际先进的炉排炉，通过余热锅炉产生蒸汽进行发电。每年可处理垃圾18.25万吨，发电6000万度。燃烧的烟气经过净化处理达到欧盟2000标准，生产的废水经过处理甚至达到饮用标准，烧完的炉渣也可以用来制作绿化带砖石。这个垃圾处理站变废为宝，大大改善了我们当地人的生活环境和质量。

　　This summer, I took the opportunity to visit our local environmental waste treatment plant when I was back home. This treatment station uses an internationally advanced grate furnace to produce steam for power generation through a waste heat boiler. It can treat 182,500 tons of garbage and generates 60 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year. The combustion flue gas is purified to meet the EU 2000 standard. The production wastewater is treated to meet even the drinking standard, and the burnt slag can be used to make green belt bricks and stones. This waste treatment station turns waste into treasure and greatly improves the living environment and quality for our locals.

　　在日本旅行的时候，我发现出租车司机几乎都是白头发的老爷爷。在很多博物馆里，我也见到了穿着保安制服的老奶奶。妈妈说，这是因为日本已经进入了老龄化社会。你们知道吗？到了2050年，中国老年人口将占总人口的34.9%，老年人养老、生产力短缺都将成为需要解决的问题。现在国家鼓励老年人再就业，但是他们需要既能发挥所长，又能保障身体安康的工作机会。希望爷爷奶奶们老有所为，做快乐的白头翁。

　　While traveling in Japan I noticed that cab drivers were almost all old grandparents with white hair, and in many museums I saw old grandmothers in security uniforms. My mom said this is because Japan has entered an aging society.

　　Did you know? By 2050, China's elderly population will account for 34.9% of the total population, and elderly retirement and productivity shortage will become problems that need to be solved. Now the state encourages the elderly to be re-employed, but they need job opportunities that can draw on their strengths and guarantee their physical well-being.

　　I hope grandparents will be active in their old age and be happy whiteheads.

　　疫情前我很少去祖国的小城市或者农村，寒暑假都是和父母出国游玩。疫情后这两年的假期，妈妈都带我去了以前不知道地方——真正的大山里，山根低下，住到了土楼里，夜晚满天的繁星，还有从门缝往屋子里扑的各种昆虫。我发现农村好美，大家生活得非常舒适，交通便利，到处有篮球场。国家做了好多事情来消除城市和农村的差距，家家通路，家家有网，让我觉得生活在农村非常幸福。

　　Before the epidemic I rarely went to the small cities or rural areas of the motherland, as I would spend the winter and summer holidays with my parents going abroad. During these two years of the epidemic, during the holidays my mother took me to places I did not know before. I saw the real mountains - the roots of the mountains are low. I lived in the old farmer's earth building and sa the night sky full of stars. From the doorway to the house would swoop all kinds of insects. I found that the countryside is so beautiful, we live very comfortably. There is convenient transportation and everywhere is a basketball court. The facilities are even better than those in Beijing! The government has done a lot of things to eliminate the gap between urban and rural areas, and every home has access to the internet, which makes me feel very happy to live in the countryside.

　　在我们身边随处可见为残障人士设置的无障碍设施，但是有一些在使用的时候会遇到问题。比如无障碍通道前面会设置路障，轮椅太宽无法通过；给轮椅铺设的斜坡太陡，轮椅推不上去；公共汽车不让导盲犬乘坐；地铁站没有直梯，轮椅无法进入等等。但是这些问题正在改善。比如照片里的这一幕——这是天安门广场西侧的公共厕所。希望这些无障碍设施真正发挥作用，让残障人士真正在这个城市自由通行。

　　We can see barrier-free facilities for people with disabilities everywhere around us, but some of them encounter many problems when using them. For example, there are barricades in front of the barrier-free access, so wheelchairs are too wide to pass; the ramps for wheelchairs are too steep to push up; buses do not allow guide dogs to ride; subway stations do not have straight stairs, so wheelchairs cannot enter and so on. But these problems are improving. For example, I saw this scene in the photo in the public restroom on the west side of Tiananmen Square. I hope these barrier-free facilities really work, so that people with disabilities can really become part of society and move freely in this city.

　　联合国可持续发展目标11提倡“建设包容、安全、有抵御灾害能力和可持续的城市和人类居住区”。这一目标的实现，意味着在快速城市化的进程中，不仅要关注大城市，也要持续关注和妥善解决新兴中小城市发展中出现的问题。如何在保持古老村镇原汁原味的基础上，提高人们的生活水准，实现原住居民、外来居民和游客之间良好的互动和平衡，云南腾冲的和顺，这个具有600多年历史的西南边陲小镇为我们带来了一些启示。

　　UN Sustainable Development Goal 11, Sustainable Cities and Communities, is focusing on “constructing inclusive, resilient to disaster and sustainable cities and communities”. During the rapid urbanization, we shall not only focus on the metropolis cities, but also continue to care for and resolve the problems that come from those emerging small and mid-sized cities. We shall find a good solution to maintain the authentic ancient towns while improving living standards; to achieve a good interaction and balance among aboriginees, migrants and tourists. Heshun Town in Tengchong City of Yunnan Province, a 600-year-old small southwest border town can give us some inspiration.

　　仔细看看。你看到了什么？我看到不负责任的消费和生产。其他许多人看到的是垃圾桶里的几杯Tim Hortons和星巴克的杯子。然而，每天这些垃圾的积累需要几百年的时间来分解。人们在购买外卖之前需要思考--为什么不自己带可以重复使用的杯子？在这个世界上，不要再把你的方便置于责任之上。

　　Look closely. What do you see? I see irresponsible consumption and production. Many others see a few cups of Tim Hortons and Starbucks cups in a garbage can. However, every day this litter accumulation takes hundreds of years to decompose. People need to think before buying a takeout order - why not bring your own reusable cup? Stop putting your convenience over responsibility in this world.

　　这张照片的拍摄地点是高空的飞机上。在空中，我们可以看到形态各异的云朵，也可以看到地面上壮美的山河。联合国可持续发展目标13是“采取紧急行动应对气候变化及其影响”。气候变化的后果非常严重：由于自然灾害更加频繁、气候更加不稳定、全球气温快速上升，多元化的自然环境将被破坏，生物也将因为极端气候或栖息地丧失而灭绝。如果我们不去应对气候变化，或许在未来，我们在空中看到的就只会是一片荒芜了。

　　This photo was taken in a plane up in the air. In the air, we can see clouds of different shapes, as well as beautiful mountains and rivers on the ground. UN sustainable development goal 13 is to "take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts". The consequences of climate change are very serious: as natural disasters become more frequent, and the climate becomes more unstable, the global temperature rises rapidly, the natural environments of different variety will be destroyed, and organisms will be extinct due to extreme climate or habitat loss. If we don't deal with climate change now, perhaps in the future, when we look down to the ground in a plane, we will only be able to see lifeless sand dunes or polluted oceans.

　　暑假，我去云南澄江化石地博物馆参观，看到了这钟神奇的动物——中华鲎。它4亿年前就存在了，躲过了无数次地球灾难。可是现在，由于人类的过度捕捞，数量越来越少了，我们要一起保护它！

　　I visited the Chengjiang Fossil Land Museum in Yunnan during the summer and saw this amazing animal, the Chinese horseshoe crab, which existed 400 million years ago and has escaped countless earth disasters. But now, due to overfishing by humans, the number of horseshoe crabs is getting smaller and smaller, so we need to protect it together.

　　The moon in the shimmering night sky waxes and wanes - from new moon to full moon to new moon again.
