　　Hello,I'm Sherry. 你知道“房子”的英文是什么吗？它可不仅仅是“Apartment”或者“House”那么简单。今天Sherry想跟大家分享一下各类“House”的英文。No.1 Apartment

　　No.1 Apartment

　　An apartment is a group of housing units in one building all owned by one entity. In other words, all the units are owned by one entity.

　　Apartemnt是一栋大楼里的一组住房单元，它们都归一个实体所有。

　　Apartment在我们英文的学习中最为常见，有点类似中国现代城市中的普通住宅。

　　No.2 Townhome 联排住宅

　　A townhome is like a row home sharing one or two walls. They are usually 2 or 3 stories tall. Some rise even higher. They are different than a condo in that owners of a townhome own both interior and exterior of the unit and are therefore financially responsible for maintenance of exteriors.

　　Townhome就像一排共用一到两面墙的房子。它们通常有两三层楼高。有些甚至升得更高。它们与condo的不同之处在于，Townhome的业主同时拥有该单元的内部和外部，因此在经济上要对外部的维护负责。

　　No.3 Condominium/Condo 公寓

　　A condo, which is short for “condominium”. An apartment house, office building, or other multiple-unit complex, the units of which are individually owned, with each owner receiving a deed to the unit purchased, including the right to sell or mortgage that unit, and sharing in joint ownership of any common grounds, passageways.

　　公寓(condo)是“condominium”的缩写。公寓、办公楼或其他多单元综合体，其中的单元为个人所有，每个业主都收到购买单元的契约，包括出售或抵押该单元的权利，并共同拥有任何公共场地、通道。

　　这里听起来“Apartment”与“Condo'是十分的相似，他们的外在也几乎是一样的，但是两者也有些许的不同：

　　1、所有权归属。Apartment一般由单个实体(通常是一个公司)拥有，然后出租给单个租户的综合体中。但是Condo一般是业主个人所有，由业主进行自我管理或者由 homeowner association (HOA)进行管理。

　　2、Apartment一般用于出租，而Condo一般用于购买。

　　3、Apartment一般面积会小于Condo

　　No.4 Detached House 独立式住宅

　　It’s a home that is not attached to another home in anyway. It sites on its own property .and is completely separate from other houses.

　　Detached House不依附于其他房子。它位于自己的房产上，完全独立于其他房屋。

　　No.5 Semi-detached 半独立住宅

　　Semi-detached House 与 Detached house 相近似，但是Semi-detached是指邻居之间有共用墙，但独门独户。

　　No.6 Bungalow 平房

　　A bungalow is a small, square, single-story home with front porch.

　　Bungalow是一种有前廊的方形单层小房子。

　　No.7 Cottage 村舍、小屋

　　The term cottage stems from England. While in today’s parlance it refers to a small vacation home, historically it’s a small home with a high thatched roof, thick walls and a single room.

　　Cottage一词起源于英国。在今天的说法中，它指的是一个小的度假屋，传统意义上它是一个小房子，有高高的茅草屋顶，厚墙和一个单间.

　　Cabin 小屋 与Cottage近似

　　No.8 Multi-family Home 多户住宅

　　A multi-family home is one that has two or more housing units. It’s an umbrella term for a detached home with an in-law suite, apartment building, townhouse development, condo building.

　　多户住宅是指拥有两个或更多住房单元的住宅。它是一个包含有姻亲套房、公寓大楼、联排别墅开发、公寓大楼的独立住宅的总称。

　　No.9 Mansion 大住宅

　　A mansion is a large, luxurious home. Mansion是一种大而豪华的房子。

　　No.10 Chateau 别墅、城堡

　　A chateau is a french term used to describe a private palace of sorts.It’s a luxurious mansion but doesn’t serve any state purpose. Chateau是一个法语术语，用来描述某种私人宫殿。这是一座豪华的大厦，但不为国家服务。

　　Villa

　　A villa is the Italian version of a chateau.

　　Villa是意大利版的Chateau。

　　Manor

　　英式Chateau

　　No.11 Yurt 蒙古包

　　The yurt is the primary housing structure used by the Mongols in Mongolia.

　　Yurt是蒙古人居住的主要房屋结构。

　　No.12 Caravan/Trailer 房车

　　Caravan/trailer 房车顾名思义就是将房子建在车子里面，房屋所具有的功能，房车基本上都有。
